About my demo:
Path to Serenity is my second commercially released game and this is its short demo, a cosy adventure walking simulator that guides players on a journey to discover calm and serenity for the main character Jim.
Main game's story:
Path to Serenity takes players on a journey with Jim, the main protagonist, as he struggles to find the right direction in life. While he is focused on advancing his career, it comes at the cost of what truly matters. However, when he finally follows his heart, he discovers a better path that will change his life forever, by following in the advice of an aunt Didi and going on a relaxing adventure. Not everything however, starts as intended.
Main themes are calm, exploration and relaxing experience
The game aims to create a calming effect as players help Jim make the right choices in his life. There’s no difficulty; simply explore the environment and support him in his decisions and complete tasks and objectives.
Explore at your own pace in a world without danger, timers, or difficulty. Interact with objects and discover Jim's journey through emotions represented by colours. Starting in his home with sad blues and dark tones in his office, the colours gradually return to vibrant normalcy as he embraces new opportunities.
As a cosy walking simulator, the game tells an emotional story that fosters relaxation through level design, music, and sound effects, guiding players towards the main character's goal of finding the right path.
